Default someone answer this already!

Lemme start out by saying I HATE SPEED BUMPS! i was driving the other night on a road that i know pretty well but i hadnt been on it in awhile and turns out they put i new speed bump in. one of those really big ones that are the same color as the road and are hard to see at night but if you hit them doing 30 its usually pretty fun so needless to say i cracked my oil pan pretty damn good

anyway2 questions

1) how do i get the bolts in the back of the oil pan off?

2) is there anything i should know to do/not todo before i start replacing it?

thanks amigos

u see that black pole looking thing? that's ur sway bar, there are 2 clamps that hold it onto ur chasis. unbolt the clamps and it swings down. there's no gasket for the oil pan, it's like a audi silicone gasket. im not sure if the high temp rtv or something similar will work but stealership has their special gasket. i bought it from stealership just in case the other ones didn't work. also the oil pan will stay on the car even after u unbolt it. at least mine did. take one of ur bolts and there are these other holes u can screw them into. don't screw it in too far as they will break. then sorta hit the bolt and then pull or sumthign to get the oil pan off. unless ur like a mountain climber and have massive grip u can pull it off with ur hands lol

The oil pan is two parts, the upper and lower. Most likely you just need to replace the lower. All you have do to get the rear bolts on the lower pan is remove the 4 13mm nuts from you sway bar and let the sway bar swing down. Other than that just replace the gasket and change the oil and filter and you should be good to go.

You may have noticed my post... https://www.audiforums.com/m_708794/tm.htm

I hear you man. They don't need to be that big! Im starting to get pissed off because even when i go super slow... just crawl over some they still scrape. My car isn't even lowered. I had my pan welded but it leaks so get a new pan. When i took off my sway bar one of the bolts was uncaptured and spinning free so i had to cut it off. Watch out for that, cause it'll never be the same! My audi guy showed me a tool that was a small flexible ratchet screwdriver, he uses that to go behind the sway bar without taking it off. Good luck.
