Someone help with this huge B5 radiator problem, PIC inside.
Here's the problem, I have a 98 a4 v6 manual trans FWD. Apparently the radiator is busted and I got a new one at a salvage yard from a 96 a4 v6 manual trans. The upper hose will not connect to the radiator because it is missing the quick disconnect fitting. I bought a new nissen brand radiator off ebay, for a 98 v6 manual trans. This radiator has the same problem, no upper disconnect fitting like the original one in my car, whats going on here???? In the picture, the dirty radiator is the original, notice the fitting. The new one has a place to screw in a hose, but this is not the right connection. I've been out of a car for 2.5 weeks over this ordeal and I need someone who knows what they are doing with these radiators. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
yea just do what most standard radiators have. get a new hose with no connector on the end and use a hose clamp. you may even be able to cut ur old hose and use that.
been there done that. I had the same prob. installed a nissen rad bought off ebay. same hose issue. I cut the original hose connection off (careful, not too much now), and used a simple hose clip. Off course, by cutting the hose, it gets shorter, but notice the nissen stem is longer. i did this about a year ago and it works fine. It hurts to cut the hose though.
