something i really think my a4 needs
something i thought my a4 was missing that the older audi's had was a oil pressure guage. i think thats way more important than an oil temperature guage (not so say the oil temp guage is useless) so this evening i went ahead and cut my dash. i wanted it to be kinda hidden cause i love my interior as it was and didnt want it to be very noticable except to me. so i decided to mount it slightly to the left of the steering wheel right under the guage cluster where i could easily see it but the passenger couldnt. here what i came out with. it was too dark to take pictures in my car so ill post some tomarrow.
the reason why im posting is cause i need your input on where u think i should run it off of. i was thinging of putting in a T where the oil pressure sensor is and running one end to the guage. i also noticed while looking through my manual that the 1.8's oil pressure sensor is right above the oil filter. i look and saw mine had a sensor there too (even though my car has the AHA v6 30v engine). what does that sensor do? oil temp sensor? could i run the T off this sensor? the manual said my oil pressure sensor is near the flywheel on the 2.8 and i think i located, but the other spot would be a little easier to set up.
any input would help

looks good, but I think I might have gotten all the logistics sorted out and figured out how to do it before cutting dashboard peices. If you can't figure out what to do to make it work, you will be stuck with a useless oil pressure gauge, or a hole in your dash.
well i know i can run it off the oil pressure sensor but i wanted input on if i could run it off that other sensor (which would be much easier). i never worried about it not working cause i know either way, in the end it will work.
today i ran the T fitting off the front of the engine and all is good. the oil pressure is about 50 psi cold then at full operating temp it drops to about 18-20 psi at idle (around 650 rpm). my manual says the min pressure at 2000 rpm is 29 and im at about 50 psi so im happy. it peaks at around 60-65 psi (around 3000-3500rpm) which is when the oil pressure bypass valve opens so it look like everything is good. heres how i hooked it up.
