something odd when useing vag
when i use my vag my right rear speaker pops and makes noise the whole time that the vag is pluged in it has only started to do this in the last month before it would make any noise and it didn't matter if the radio was on or off and now if thje radio is on it will not scan it says to shut car off for 30 secs and start over any idea?????
is it an after market radio?? if it is you need to disconnect the radio power leads because the original radio is connected to the DLC pin 7 so the dealer can scan the full system, you could damage your laptop/PC
but my car has had an aftermarket radio in it since i bought it last year and have vaged it probaly 25-30 times and i never had this problem till last month and not it does it every time i vag it but next time i will unplug the radio, what is the DLC Pin 7 i know it is a wire in the radio harness but which on is it?
well im only quoting Audi, the reason you get this problem is because your radio has a permanent memory live and a switched live so the DLC grounds pin 7 K line to interrogate the ECU and by having and aftermarket unit that pin would short your PC because it would be live + when it should be grounded,
I can only hazard a guess that what I have said could be the problem even though you have used VAG on it before, the problem is well known in the dealers that's why they wont scan newer cars without the original system in, try disconnecting the radio power supply ( both live leads ) and see if the problem goes away
