Default Sonar Projectors...

I am new to these forums but not new to working on cars..maybe you can help me out..I just installed sonar projectors in my a4, first they were the wrongs ones (diff harnesses) but i made them work..my question is that i believe i need to aim my projectors bc the light doesnt really seem to go anywhere..(i also have an HID kit installed--6000k) they seem like there on the pavement..i did a search for this but i didnt come up with anything that would help me..has anyone else run into this situation? Am i running a junk projector set?

I just installed the same exact set of headlights in my car last weekend. I made some mods to the turn signal wiring as well. They only come on and work when I am actually signaling. Only the Halos come on when I turn the running/parking lamps on. With the way I have mine aimed they are 100 times better than stock and do amazing for lighting the road way and things in front of me. I would really try to re-aim them and hope for the best.

poly..if you have the same ones how did u aim them? bc there set up kinda wierd..i also have the HID conversion too so i dont know what the heck happened i think just stock the alignment sucked, bc all i see is rings from the projectors on the pavement (from the HID's-not from the halos)

i have mine hooked up like this:

halos are on a switch..i was going to wire it into the DRL but i think it looks so mean with the halos alone sometimes..
used stock turn signal but "modified" the projector light to fit it..so i dont get that rapid flash or a not working light..

so basically i baked my sonar projectors peeled the covers apart and put the stock valeo bi xenons in the sonars..the bi xenon that came with the sonars are horrible for HID kits..beware..and you cant even adjust the bulb as much as you turn the more it gets f'ed up. But 2 days later..it look rediculous..

Just so I know when I have to change the bulbs in mine. How did you go about baking it to get the front off. I would hate to do it wrong when the time comes.

well you can get the HID bulbs out regulary, just use a screw driver to pop the black caps out in the back..but the take the whole cover off and replace the actual projector housing is as follows..

**pull out all your bulbs first!!**

1. Heat up oven to 280 - 290 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Place aluminum foil on a cookie sheet, place both in the oven.
3. Place the lamp on the aluminum foil and let sit for 10 - 15 minutes. Don't worry this will NOT melt your wires OR your headlamp assembly.
4. Pull out the Lamp assembly and place on a surface that will not be damaged by heat.
5. Pull back the black tabs to allow you to pull the pieces apart latar.
6. Grab your butter Knive and begin slicing at the edges to remove some of the glue. This **** is HOT, so DO USE YOUR MITS to handle the lamp. Repeat heating, and slicing as necessary to open up lamps.
**Shortcut: I was able to pull the headlamps apart easily and quickly by wedging the butter knife at the bottom portion where the high beam lamp is. Then i took a second butter knife and wedge that in at the same time very close together. I then just used a pivoting action to which caused the knife to open up the lamps a bit, enough for me to pull them apart without having to run a knife along the ENTIRE outside of the lamps. BE CAREFUL!!! The glue will be very GUMMY and will string, cool in the air, and stick to EVERYTHING.
Put the parts on a safe place to allow cooling.

**hope this helps everyone out..ive done this a million times..on you guys that have black audi's paint the inside of the light housing black, or for anyone looking for the JDM kinda look..
