JL subs blow in my opinion I had 2 12s in one of my cars and the kept blowin up at only 3/4 rms power I went through 4 of them then ditched them for eclipse subs...Much better

also in my experience rockford overrate their watt ratting. brands like mtx underrate their amps to give you an edge in competition

For crazzy bass I would go with 12s but you have to have enough power which is probly your problem....your "600" watt amp is probly more like 150watts per chanel rms and 300watts peak per chanel. unles your runing @ 2ohms in that case it would be double unless the manual says otherwise ....is it a2 chanel amp or one chanel?

Mehurrman if you wanted crazy bass i would have gone with 12s

and gone with the w6s

the 10 w0s are decent, but 10s in general are made more for punchier bass, obviously a 12" sub has more cone area so its going to push more air and be louder

you could try upping/lowering the freq on the subs, so they could hit harder and lower.

SlimChriz jl subs are good, its just like... jl is the bmw of subs, they are expensive, and sometimes not worth the price money wise... ive have had a single 12" w7 in my car and i love it, you just have to be careful what freq you send to the subs since they can distort it and cause cracking or a broken voice-coil

i think phoenix gold has way better amps than jl or rockford... especially the ti series

I have a 2 channel amp, and im thinking of returning me 2 10s and get 2 12's and just paying the difference, the car audio guy said that my amp can handle 2 12 inch W0 subs.

what kind of amp is it

and what is the rms in 2 channel and mono mode

you also have to make sure you have the impetance right..

as well as wired correctly.. for example if you wire 2 12' 4 ohm subs, in parallel or series, either one will have the amp seeing a different load.. i believe 2 4 ohm subs in parallelwould be best bridging the 2 channel amp into 4 ohm mono mode

you DO NOT want to do 2 ohm mono load, most amps dont support it, and if they do most run too hot

not nessesarily some mono amps now are made too handle 2 ohms or even 1 ohm and most come with good internal fans but these are not entry level amps and also not cheap by any means...aslo you have to take into accout mounting location with there be enough airflow around the amp ect.

also Maverick I stay within the statedfrequency limits of the manufacturer on my systems by a heathy margin

Also the JL W0 with 125 rms power rating is more like thecorola than the BMW though the Corolla is made by the same company that makes Lexus its still a piece of s**t

And where your amp out performs your subs Mehurrman Id say the problem is with your subs! but it looks like a good setup with the amp putting out more than the max rating of the subs. its better that way because your amp is not at full power to get the most out of the subs, but it sounds like you just want more!

well the w0s are an entry-level sub

corolla isnt a bad car, its nothing great, but its reliable, which is what the w0s are. Its not a bad sub at all, are there better ones on the market of course.

If I was him, i would get the w3s at least... if he wants to stick with jl.

your right the 1 2ohm mono and 1 ohm mono amps are very expensive.. i believe the 1 ohm mono amps are class D amps, which have a high THD so its a tradeoff.... those amps still run very hot... the hotter the amp runs the less efficient it is unless those heatsinks can move the air enough which is why you are right in saying that he doesnt put everything in an enclosed place.

with any sub, what you want to look at is rms rating, since this is the max continous power a sub can push/use. ie. if a w0 125 wats rms, 250 watts peak say for example.. a 1000x1 amp is inefficient, unless you plan to add more speakers.

the other key thing to look at with speakers, is the xmax value.

The higher the xmax faster the more air the cone is pushing and this is how you get more bass.

Yeah I have a 600 watt rockford fosgate amp like a 201 series i believe, but the 600 is the max watt. WHoever knows a lot about car audio, do you think that if I get a 1500 watt rockford fosgate amp that i will have a lot more bass or do you think it wont make a difference. Because I already got a volume equalizer **** installed and it only works with rockford fosgate amps, so im not to interested in switching to different companys.
