Default Specs on B6 A4 and B5 S4 - Comparing the two...

I am looking at used Audi's. I am looking for some specs on each. Also, please give me your reviews on the B5 S4 vs. the B6 A4. I would be looking at a 2000 or 2001 S4, or a 2002 or 2003 A4. I like the syling of the B6 much more (both interior and exterior).... but like the power of the S4. I don't know much else about the vehicles... this is what I am looking for:

Specs of each model:
Curb Weight
Wheel base (size differences in general)
MPG rating
Is quattro different between the two?
Limited slip on either?
Electronics / Options different?

Thanks in advance. If there is a website which gives some specs please let me know as well, and I can find some of this stuff out on my own.

Ok so I ended up finding some specs right after I posted this.... just had to type the right thing in Google to find it.

Good other than its Metric... but for comparison it does not matter.
It looks like the A4 was rated at 31 MPG highway and the S4 was rated at 24 MPG highway. Quite a difference with rising gas prices.... this might effect my decision. Would MPG raise or lower if I chip the car? Thanks.

Well... look at it this way:

If you chip the car, you will be pulling more boost. That means more air will be slammed into your engine, which means you will burn more fuel to go along with the added air.

So yes, your gas mileage will decrease.

But I think it is safe to say it would decrease by the same percentage....
I only asked because my MPG improved when I got an EMS for my current car. It ran so rich stock, that the EMS actually improved mileage. Of course I only went from 7psi to 9-10psi as well.

I don't own a 1.8T, my post was based completely off of what I know about how a forced induction engine operates. I've only owned one turboed car, and I left it stock.

I think it would safe to assume that when you chip it, you will see a hit to your MPG. How big that is, I don't know. But I'm sure it'll be there.

Anyone have comments regarding the reliability of the B5 S4? I have heard mixed comments, and if I bought one it would have about 40-50k miles which scares me. I think the light interior with the black dash looks great on the S4's though.

B6 1.8T's are at 235 hp and 275 lbs of torque running APR stage 1+ (chip + injectors). Add exhaust, and you're likely matching the S4's numbers...

And, chipping actually IMPROVES gas mileage by like 1 mpg... but the resulting change in driving habits will negate those improvements.

I'd probably go S4... I love the seats, I love the 6 spd, I love the style... ... plus chipping an S4 gets you 309 hp... so yeah... haha But if you want a fun reliable car... go B6 1.8T and go stage 1+ with exhaust. I think you'd be very happy.

Thanks so much guys! Your right... I have to find out what I want exactly. A4 = styling looks great, S4 = power, and styling looks pretty good.
I would rather not get an exhaust because I want to keep the car quiet.... that and the performance gains are minimal compared to the noise increase. I know the turbo wants to breathe... so it will spool faster with a more open exhaust, but I care about noise more. Right now I have a 3" turbo-back and my turbo almost spools TOO fast.... but it is way to loud.
