I have an ECU just sitting here that I'm looking to sell...

Was going to sell it for $100, as that seems to be the going rate in the classifieds, but how about $80 plus shipping.

P/N 4D0 907 551 AH

came from a '98 2.8 manual transmission vehicle.

Sorry guys with automatics, although I suppose if you have a vag-com you could change it, not sure...

I actually originally bought this specifically for the same reason you guys are looking for a spare ECU. I went with inmotion tuning (it was a few months before this group buy) and the car definately has a completely different feel to it. I don't know if it's making 15-20 hp more in the middle of the curve, but low end torque, throttle response and the smoothness of accelleration will all be greatly enhanced with a chip. Wish I had dyno numbers, though...

As another side note, a lot of the numbers that chip makers throw out are usually the hp/tq with their chip AND an exhaust and/or intake. I know that in a stock 2.8 an exhaust won't add much power on its own, but with a chip that high end defintely feels like it has more to offer. Again, I don't have any dyno numbers to support this, although I wish I did...

Didnt want to start a new thread so bumping this one up. Just got my ECU back with the SpeedTuning chip. I can just say one thing WOW!!!. The biggest bang for the buck, i feel my 2.8 has been given a new life. Drove around town all last night in my car. To all 2.8 owners looking for mods, do thespeedtuning chip if you can. Special thanks to klum00 for starting the groupbuy, A4 Effort for this review which motivated me, and ofcourse to AF ...
Just thought i would drop in my positive review about Speed Tuning chip.

Well, I don't know, the website definitely implies that they can chip the 12v, so shoot them an email to clarify.

its only the euro spec 12v engine they can chip. It all depends on the ECU in your car. Hitachi = No, Bosch = Yes
