Default split personality?

a friend of mine who owns a passat (not sure what year, but semi-new) told me he was reading on a VW forum that if before starting your car, you turn the key halfway to just get power and then push the accelerator all the way down and hold it for a few seconds, let off the gas and then start the car, it will have entered into some kind of sportier mode where the car revs higher and is just a little bit quicker. I wasn't sure if this was just some load of crap somebody was feeding or what but I figured the V-dub's and the Audi's being so similar it might work on my a4 as well if it were true. anyone ever heard of such a thing?

th M5 only comes in V10. My dad is on the list. he saigned up a year ago. They made him pay up front. But the cool thing is he takes delivery in Germany. BMW pays for 2 tickets and 18 days in germany. they pay for driving school with your car. and when you return home you drop the car off at a carrier and BMW pays to have it shipped to your house

so i don't have to look around, what's the price compare on those 2? If they're similar.. then yeah.. biturbo V12. period. Though I hate the look of most Mercedes'.
