well yesterday ProOnThaSnow and I went and mobbed my 97 a4 1.8t around, basically hod rodded it to ****, had the manifold glowing red, well i did a donut turning right, take it i had the wheel cranked, and after thqat it was tuff to steer and you could hear it squealing a bit, so we added more fluid but there was some in it already. anyone know what could be wrong or what i need to fix

I really think its the P/S pump making noise, cuz it only happens when you turn the wheel brotha...

 

that would mean low fluid or air in the system ( which I doubt ) have you checked the fluid level??

 

I think it may be air in the system, its definately not low fluid.

 

all belts besides timing belt were replaced 300 miles ago, so doubt its that, must be air, thanks for help guys, so how do i get the air out?? drain fluid and refill?? sorry first car i worked on with power steering

 

remove the filler cap and turn the steering full lock left and right a few times

 

How long did you have the wheel fully turned?
