Default ss installed

just finished installing my new DieselGeek short shifter! the original Audi shifter was driving me nuts, this is how they should have been from the factory at least on the B5, not sure how the newer models are. oh man what a difference! nice short crisp shifts. great instructions from DieselGeek, no need to remove the center console. 1999 model here.
no short shifter yet in your b5? get one, you'll love it!

It's where you have to push down the gear shifter to go into reverse. I've always thought it was so you couldn't accidentally go into reverse instead of 4th or something like that. My 98.5 has it which makes the ss $40 more...[sm=WTFsgign.gif]

When I test drove the car the salesman handed me the keys and said have fun. To get it out of the spot took a few minutes untill I figured push down the shifter. Wow what a concept I thought now it' s like second nature.

I don't get how they can charge so much just for a few simple pieces of metal.

well the process of development and research cost some bucks. plus they need to be able to pay employees and run equipment.
