Still running like sh*t
So I recently put in my K04 and since then if I accelerate quick I get this poppong sound and a cell. Thouhgt it might be exhaust leak but turns out know. The cell I got was cylinder 2 misfire. Would a misfire on cylinder 2 cause that popping sound as well as the definite small loss of power whenever you hear a pop?
sounds like a bad coil pack. do you have a vag cable?
I had the same symptoms as you and it was a coil pack. i had 2 coil packs go bad in less than 3k miles. my car has 60k on it. coil packs are cheap enough though.

Swap coil pack with another cyl. and see if misfire follows. A misfire will cause a pop/backfire due to theunbrunt fuel/gases igniting in the cat.Obviously, ita misfire causeslack of power... I thought misfire trouble shooting practices were were common knowlege round here?

I had already figured coilpacks and am getting some new Hitachi E's but wanted to double check so if that did not correct the issue I knew which direction to move. Thanks guys hopefully after I get em swapped she'll be growling again. For now I have to sit here and take being embarressed by my cousins stock 05 GTI. "whimpers" anyway I'll let you guys know how it goes
