I have a 1996 A4 2.8l that when it gets to operating temp bogs down after 1/4 throttle and also pops out the exhaust when you let off the throttle. Only mod is cold air intake. HELP it has got me puzzled beyond belief!

 

Sounds like mild misfiring. Try changing out your plugs and inspect your vacuum lines for rips/breaks. New plugs should be gapped about .040".

Haven't changed them yet. I just got this car a month ago for $250 because it needs a new tranny ( no 4th gear and its Quattro ). That will definatly be the next thing I do. It just puzzles me because it runs real strong until it gets warm. Someone else thought it might be cat or resonator, does this sound like it might be something too?
