My girlfriend just boght a 99 audi 1.8T. I think it might have a catback greddy exhaust system thats all for performance. My question is how much PSI does the stock car have? What should she do for performance first? I know a BOV is not performace but they sound badass what do you think?

 

stock psi is 7-9. SEARCH THE FORUMS. chip it and NO BOV, BOV=BAD

i no i could just search stuff but how much do chips run and what type of HP can you expect out of?

what needs to be done to reach 200hp?

200 hp to the flywheel can be reached with a chip and exhaust.

The DV goes in place of what you call the BOV.. It recirculates the air instead of blowing it off into the air.. GIAC and APR are most popular chips.

If you just want to get a chip and exhaust, the GIAC chip from www.awe-tuning.com is the best in my opinion. You can get the Borla exhaust from there too, if you want. Chip = about 47 HP, exhaust = about 15, so this'll put you at about 62 HP over what you have now (which is 150 I believe). So you'll be at 200+. If you're only getting a chip and exhaust, I'd go with the 710N diverter valve from the TT. It's about $30. Otherwise, you can get the Bailey from AWE for about 150 I think. Chip'll cost you 400 maybe? Look the prices up at awe-tuning.com. Definitely chip it though, it's the cheapest mod that gives you the most HP and acceleration.
