stupid question
Sorry in advance. Manual does not describe what the button on the dash behind the steering wheel on the left side does.
Its one of those buttons you push in and then it pops out. You can turn it a quarter turn to a 0 or 1 position. The icon is a clock dial with the headlight symbol superimposed over the top.
I've experimented with it - but can't figure out what the heck it does.
This is in a 2004 A4 Avant 1.8T. As you can probably guess, I just bought the car...

Which lights are you guys talking about --- the instrument panel? if so, it has no effect on the brightness of my instrument panel lights (tried this driving at night w/ headlights --- no change in panel brightness).
Manual says the +/- buttons used to change the clock time etc change the interior panel brightness....
So I am really still stumped.
I know its a stoopid question - but you think the manual would address it...
