Subs with Stock Head Unit....
ok... well i had the stock head unit and i didnt wire them to my head unit... i went to the back speakers... on your amp there is a thing called high input... those are the wires you need to connect to your rear speakers... but it is a pain in the *** running the wires under the carpet and trunk panels
I wired in an amp and a sub without changing the stock head unit. I used a hi-low converter. If you do a search you can find a ton of posts on a couple different ways to wire up an amp. It's not too difficult a job to do, but if the price was right, I'd pay someone else to do it.
The cost pretty much lies in the amp and sub you buy. You can find cheap amps and subs and crazy expensive amps and subs. The converter is like $20 and of course a wiring kit for the amp will cost between $40 and $80 depending on the quality of the wire. I went with Alpine products and spent roughly $400 for everything. It definitely made a HUGE difference in the sound quality.
if you have Bose you don't need a hi-lo converter, there are low level outputs in the trunk connected to your cd changer...you WILL however need to buy a ground loop isolator...i made a write-up for this but the site that hosts it is blocked on this site...email me and i can help you out

i currently have subs and an amp installed with my factory bose system. I tapped the 2 rear speakers into this: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-nnk5YgF...tput&i=142SLC4
from there I wired that to my amp, then amp to subs....boom
In theory it was simple, but running all the wires and making everything look clean/professional took a little longer than i thought.
