i have a 99 audi a4 the sunroof tilts open but it doesn't open. it feels like it is stuck.

 

Try helping along with a little force, if the motor just isn't running or doesn't work its probably the potentiometer (the ****)

 

how do i fix that. it goes down ready to open then it gets stuck

 

Does it really get stuck? Can you hear the motor trying to move the glass backwards or does it just do nothing?

 

the motor is trying to work then it gets stuck. the sunroof moves downward ready to open then it gets stuck. i think the motor is fine. the motor is working because the tilt is working fine, but when i try to open it gets stuck

 

Try spraying silicone lubricant on the rails. Spray RadioShack contact cleaner
on the switch.

 

the stupid thing wont open all the way it just tilts down ready to open and gets stuck it. i'm worrired about breaking it.

 

Try helping it manually, then grease the rails but use white lithium grease, not silicone spray.

 

i tried forcing it open, it wont open. i am worried about breaking the glass

 

i give up on this damn sunroof
