Suspension Changes
Hey Everyone,
I am brand new to the site, and I love what I have seen so far. I have a 2001 A4 2.8Q with most of the options except the sport suspension, sport wheels and navigation. I bought the car this past January with 49,500 miles. The only modification I have done is tinted the windows. I am ready to change the suspension. I like the stiffness and rigidity of the B6, but I love the looks of the B5, both interior and exterior. I am attempting to change the shocks and springs. I do not want to drop the car to low b/c I live in Ohio, and the winters can become brutal. I am looking for advice on a good combination of shocks, springs and sway bars. I drive this car about 600 miles a week, so I need somthingt more stiff for better handling, but also comfortable b/c of the shi#%y freeways here in Ohio. Any help with this subject would be awsome.
Thanks,
Sugeryman

I thought I would be spending somewhere in the neighborhood of $750 to $1200 dollars. I was not sure about coilovers b/c I will most likely never change the height of the car and I am not going for a slammed look. I know the 2001 S4 is 20mm (0.8 inch) lower than my A4. The only thing I can find are either Eibach sport springs ( 1.2 front , 1.2 to 1.5 rear) and/or H&R srpings. I was going to put either KONI or Eicback shocks on at the same time, along with front and rear sway bars. I am trying to make this car drive like the ultimate driving machine, not outrageous. I do not want to drop the car anymore than 1.5". Let me know what ya think and if there are any good combinations of shocks and springs.
