Default Suspension de-stiffening advice

I have the sport and its WAY too stiff for me. I also live in an city with a lot of old bumpy streets, so i really want to go less stiff. What is different about the suspensions between the sport and reg model? I'm changing the struts for sure, but is that enough? How much of an effect do the springs make in A4s (are they even different?)?

i think that you would waste a lot of money and not get the desired result if you wnet to non-sport set up. im not sure that it would even be noticeably less stiff. all it would do is that it would make your car look less sporty and goofier (being non-sport myself i would know allllll about the goofy rock-crawler look).

Going from the OEM sport suspension to standard OEM will not make the ride that much softer. I have H&R sport springs w/ Koni's and the ride is stiff, but even on the bumpy roads it is not that bad.

You said you have alot of "old bumpy roads", where are you located? We have some crappy roads here, but every one does. What have you noticed with the suspension that you don't like?

Your shocks are probably blown, then. I'd take that shiz to a mechanic and see what he says, because you are the first person to ever find this an issue. If your shocks were blown, you'd be smacking bumpstops when going over bumps, which is a lot like the Hulk punching your wheelwell.

Stock-sport isn't very stiff at all. My guess is that your suspension is broken in some way.

My thoughts exactly - something is not right with your suspension, or it's got some aftermarket pieces. Even with 19's and the tires pumped to 50 PSI I don't find the sport suspension to be firm or harsh.

Just go test drive a couple a4's... a sport and non-sport. Make sure that your sport isn't way harsher than the sport you test drive... that'd tell you something was wrong with your suspension. But, if the test driven sport is just as harsh, and you like the non-sport... then consider making the swap. I'm sure if you posted on the forums, somebody would trade you straight up... you might even make a few bucks, or get them to pay for labour or something...
