I have a 2000 audi a4 1.8t Q and wanted to do a suspension upgrade.... however I have the money for all the things I need for the rest of my gt28rs turbo kit and im torn between the 2. I was wondering if a few people could give me their opinion on which suspension upgrades are the best bang for the buck. I dont want to spend over 1000 on suspension that way I can still afford other upgrades. Is there a cheaper coil over kit that I can get rather than spending 1100 on a stasis kit? I was also wondering where the best place to get a front mount intercooler would be. I like the size of tom ritts front mount and since I will be using my stock bumper Id like to go into the same direction as him. Any comments would be useful and appreciated.

 

Look for a set of used shocks and spring in the classifieds. You can get neuspeed springs for $200 on ebay, and bilstein shocks for $450.

Thanks for the help guys, about the suspension though, I was kinda looking for a coil over kit because I will be doing the install myself and I dont think I have the right tools to put the springs on unless it was already on in a kit. Do you know of any coil-over kits i would be able to buy for about the same price?

 

you can rent a spring compressor from any auto parts store.. you will put down a deposit.. when you take it back.. you will get all your depost back..

Ok so now I know about the tool I can rent but the question is, what is included in a coil-over kit. If i buy the shocks and springs seperate is that equivilent to these coil over kits i see going for over $1000, I dont wanna half *** my car in anyway because its my pride and joy just like it is to alot of you other guys out there. If i bought the shocks and springs is there anything else i would need to buy to complete what would be a "coil over kit "?

 

get coil overs trust me u can adj. for wheel size and weather snow? if u get any

but than u still need the struts . 500?
get the suspension first u will enjoy ur car much better w/ 150hp and crazy handling than a 250hp w/ body roll.
plus w/turbo upgrades u end up spending a lot more money than u first suspected on fine tunning the car.


1.get the suspension enjoy ur car,
2.get more $
3. than do turbo upgrades.

Any idiot can drive fast in a straight line...

Buy the suspension and drive fast around corners and cruise when straight..
