Default suspension upgrade concerns

well with Waterfest coming up (im goin sunday) I am gonna be looking for a good deal on a shock/spring combo. Now my only concern is that if I drop my car 1.5-2 inches...will i be putting too much stress on stock components like control arms? will they be way more prone to giving out if i drop? im gonna go look in the maintence logbook from the original owner and see if the control arms ever got replace and at what time.

ok, nothing in the log book about control arms...but it did have the timingbelt changed at 84,187 (now at 166,582). maybe i'll just leave the suspension on it alone get like a shortshifter and save for another car or maybe a project car...hmmmm

Booooo! Drop it!

From what I've heard (warning: what I'm about to say is probably untrue), you can contact a dealer and they can tell you if the control arms have been changed under the recall based off the VIN. Worth a shot. I don't even know what years the recall affects.

You should really change the timing belt now too. Most people say change it every 60k to be safe.

Then drop it.
