Looking to swap my 2.8 engine out for the 1.8t is this even possible?

 

of course its possible. but if you had the money to perform the swap you might as well do this do your 2.8 and start killing 1.8T's

Well do you have an automatic or manual? Manual being a hell of a lot cheaper to swap.
With an automatic you would have to get a transmission for it along with a TCM (transmission control module) engine wiring harness, ECM, motor mounts, Clutch (if manual), Manual tranny, and so on.

It is true, un-less your a master mechanic with an *** load of tools and planing on doing the swap yourself, its much cheaper just to sell your 2.8L and buy a 1.8T. You might even break even with the money factor which IMO is a much better way to go.
