Default Symphony II stereo

Hello everyone, This is my first post as I bought a 2003 silver 1.8TQ last week.

The symphony stereo is good, but I was thinking of putting a mono channel sub amplifier and replacing the sub on the back deck.

Anyone know where the Audi amplifier is? It would be helpful to know because I may be able to run another power cable off the audi Amp depending on the cabling, amerage etc.

Thanks

Yes, I found that piece of sh*t! There are actually two amplifiers. The fronts are powered by the deck, and the rears and sub are powered by a silver box located in the right rear of your trunk, above the wheel well. You pretty much half to remove the right liner to get to it ( theres alot of screws, take your time so you dont destroy it ) . I have the non-bose version, but I understand the only difference is the speakers and that rear amp. After hours of playing with it, I figured out the speaker connects and inputs to the amp. I tried to connect that feed to my new amp and found the levels are WEIRD! They arenot quite RCA level, but not speaker level, so after waisting another 3 hours, I went and bought a line to RCA level converter, connected that to the front speaker outputsand ran RCA's to that amp and speaker wires back to the deck area and connected those to my fronts. So now my amp runs both the front and back. I also added a 200 watt mono amp to the sub ( which is way to much for that little thing )SOOOOOOO........

Now my system is screaming loud! I bought a cheapy Jensen 600 watt four channel amp for $139.99 at Waldo-mart, and it kicks the crap out of the bose system! I showed a buddy of mine whom spent the $600 upgrade for the Bose, and he wants me to do his system now, haha!

Default RE: Symphony II stereo

so how do I bypass that amp.

lets say I want to grab the output wires that lead to the rear speakers from the factory amp and cut so that I can just wire them to a better after market amp?

I just installed the new pioneer Z1 and when i raise the vol, the rear speakers clip off and on because of the radios output to the factory amp.

I'm stuck on this one,,, help1

thanks in advance,

nexus
