ummm... i thought the 12 valve used a different head, therefore... it probably wouldnt "bolt right up". I'm sure if it bolted right up, somebody would have done it by now..

and what do you mean by "basically", try expanding on your post a little bit... how long did u talk to him, did you talk about how the motors use different heads, so how would it bolt right up... i say call again and do a little more investigation, cuz im pretty sure it doesnt "bolt right up"

threw email.. i said that i was disappointed that they discontinued the g1 because my understanding is that they worked for the 12v.. he said the g1 didnt work for the 12v and that the g2 is a better system anyways.... i said well then what is required to have a reliable working g2 on a 12v and he said that all i need is a standalone.... making me think that he was saying it bults up

yea from what i have seen they wont bolt up.... just get a 1.8 or a 30v all 12v'ers give up trying sooner or later or just realize that they will never have power unless they wana spend 10g's

lol, dude dont give up... reality is stock for stock your still faster than a stock 1.8 ha... a 12v runs about a 15.8-16.0 depending on the driver.... just a chip and nothing else on a 1.8 you will run about a 15.5....

its funny that people with no experience with both cars tries to comment...

i have experience with both cars, honestly the 1.8 is incredibly over rated.. but at the same time i have a 2.8 so maybe im a little bias lol

i have experience with both cars also. chipped, tb exhaust 1.8t(me); unchiped 1.8t; 2.8 with exhaust and intake; G2 supercharged 2.8 and even more

i caneasily pull onstock 1.8t's and my buddy's 2.8 w/ exhaust and intake.

i actually beat my other buddy's G2'd 2.8 off the line then mid 2nd gear he starts to walk me. but only slowly, nothing amazing like but definatly pulls ahead..(my go fast mods-$1200..his-$5000+) not to mention that the 2.8 is a more expensive car than the 1.8t(year for year and mileage to mileage)

so no, the 1.8t's are not overrated at all. they are one of the most famous and liked4 bangers to tune out there.

as far as that i was aware that the only issue with the 12v is the software. so that would make sense that standalone would be a solution
