Tarnished window surrounds, help please????

Tarnished window surrounds, help please????
Can any one help?
I have Audi a4 convertible, when I bought the car I noticed the front pillar covering around the window and around the size window seal is tarnished its a mock aluminium surround, it looks as if it is hazy and not a high gloss as it should. ive tried cleaning it and micro fibre clothes but no joy
Any ideas ???
