Temp Display format change automatic??

Temp Display format change automatic??
So, since I've owned my A4, it's always displayed the outside temp as Celcius. Same with the display for my HVAC, always Celcius.
Drive my car to the States for the 14millionth time, park it. Get up the next morn, start the car ... now both the outside temp display and HVAC temp display are in Fahrenheit. At first I was impressed that my car could detect geographical changes like that and adapt, but now that I'm back home in Canada ... it's STILL Fahrenheit, not Celcius. I can read Fahrenheit, but it's not as 'instant' to read as Celcius is.
Anyone else seen/heard this problem?
