Well a few nights back I went and test drove a 2001 A4 2.8Q. I always liked the old boy style, so Im trying to get one right now. Anyway, This car was a manual cause I MUST have a stick. In this particular car the release point on the clutch was ridiculously far out...like think all the way out. And im comparing this to my dads 02 1.8T. Is there something wrong with this car to make the clutch out that far? Its almost like the clutch is ready to blow or something...any help is appreciated.

Does it slip at all? In 5th gear under full throttle does the engine rev faster than the car accelerates?

 

I went to another dealership tonight where I test drove basically the exact same car, only this one had 36k miles, more features, and RS4 replica wheels. The clutch was MUCH better on this one, and the dealer didn't come with us on the test drive so we really got to try it out...and guess what? We (My dad and I) ended up putting a reserve payment on it...I am SOOOO pumped.

 

thats seems like a werid realising point, my clutch lets out like half way. i love my clutch. much be werid to get use to new clutches and ur just not use to it yet.

 

Yeah Im sure Im just not used to that particular clutch...I just drove my dads 02 1.8T and the clutch felt more like the car im getting, so its all good
