Test Pipe = Power?

Test Pipe = Power?
Holy ****! I know i'm in CA and i really shouldn't, but for $165.00 and a 45 minutes drive i can get this http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=BCS
"Typical gain is 200 to 400 rpm sooner spoolup and 40 ft/lb of wheel torque. HP gain is 10-15 on stock and K04 turbo and 30-40 on GT28RS or larger turbo. Our favorite when used with stock exhaust for ultra quite stealth sound. This part is for offroad use only."
I love how they throw on "This part is for offroad use only" at the very end. but about 40ft/lb torque gain!?! I havn't been this excited since bought the car. I can't wait!
Has anyone tried it? Is it that much louder?
Is it "Cool" loud (stock exaust) or is it "WTF was that, does he even have an exaust" loud?
Any testimonials would be awesoem.

RE: Test Pipe = Power?
The test pipe will take away you cat, obviously.
This reduces backpressure allowing the turbo spool quicker.
This can also increase HP/tq.. i dont know about the numbers they gave but it can increase them
To get rid of the CEL you need about 5$ and a good drill.
Go to autozone and buy some Spark Plug Non-Foulers (18mm thread I belive). Drill ONE of them out so its hollow, but dont mess with the threads...
Screw them together so the hollow one is on top. Remove your secondary O2 sensor and put these foulers in its place. Then screw the o2 sensor into the foulers.
BOOM no CEL

haha lets just say those claims for hp and tq are just a BIT over rated. im gonna(stock car) say that its more near 10 ft/lbs and 10 hp, IF THAT!! mostly you gain faster spool, which is def a plus.. i was stock(mostly) when i had my pipe on, and i could see a small improvement, mainly a little more boost which sent me into limp mode yay! but if your chipped your gonna get a bit more power out of it. and the bigger turbo you have the more this part makes a difference.
its a good mod, and in fact im getting a full turbo back exhaust on right now(custom 2.5 all the way) no cat. and now im chipped so i will tell you the difference then.
i would say get to know an exhaust specialist, buy him some beer and let him make you a full exhaust with no cat or anything for about $275.
but bang for the buck the testpipe isn't too bad, especially down the road when you want more power
PS if you have lots of miles or for some reason your cat is clogged, this will REALLY help. in that case you will get a little closer to their claims..... fyi my car is at 93k original cat, no problems.

I'm going to dyno my car before and after... We'll see. There's this new company coming out called Icon Racing that's designing one that will eliminate the Secondary Oxygen Sensor Code, the Test Pipe will be made of 304 SS, the welds will be Robotically Tig Welded, and from what I've seen it should be a pretty solid design (I know the guy who's starting the company). He said the price will be $169.95 SHIPPED, will include OEM Gaskets, and OEM Hardware.
I'll have one in a few months once he starts selling them, I'll post a detailed write up when the time comes.

ah also you can use universal cat there or High Flow cat, I saw couple of times on Ebay, like $150. and if you are past 1995 then I believe you can take it out, but If you go to Canada and the cop would stick a tube through your back then you will have a problem.
