test pipe?

so i know that i you geta BOV or a 50/50 BOV then it can mess up the cat an throw the engine light on but if i just get a straight test pipe would that get rid of the BOV or 50/50 problems or will i still have some problems?? thanks for the info

a test pipe has no effect on your DV so you would still have problems

Test pipes and DV's have nothing to do with each other its Exhaust/Intake. BOV's will cause issues with air/fuel.

i think he read that installing a BOV will damage the cat, so he figured if he put a testpipe on, it might be ok. but the car will still run rich and cause occasional misfiring (due to the purged air) which will result in ECU miscalculated timing adjustments and other errors.

Ah I didn't catch that. I have devolped this quick response thing every time i see BOV.

haha thanks guys but umm yea ill stick with my forge 007 DV but around how much PSI will you have to be running to get a noise if i chip it and put and intake on will it be more audiable? i have a b5 and also is a test better then a cat. cause i was thinking about getting the entire borla exhaust system but i wasnt sure if i should get a test pipe if it would let exhuast out quicker
