Default TESTPIPE CEL

i was thinking about installing a test pipe on my b5 and was wondering if the non-fouler trick really works, or if there are any other methods of getting around it. any feedback would be helpful.

There is a diode mod for the 02 sensor wireing, but the non fouler mod seems to be reliable as far as i know.

The non-fouler trick will work. Take 2 and put them together, put in your o2 sensor and you're good 2 go. all it does is cause a lower temp reading from the o2 sensor so your computer doesn't throw a code. The diode mod does the same thing, just a little more technically.

yeah but i was mainly wondering, if the fouler mod or wire mod will keep the cel away. also do i need a vag-com to clear the codes or will a scan tool do the job ( i've only had the car for a week so i'll eventually pick one up but for now all i have is a scan tool).
