When i drive my 99' A4 1.8t i can even hear or feal the turbo. Just wondering at what rpm the turbos start to spool on your 1.8t's.My car just has Borla exhaust.

It spools to give you power around 2,000 rpm.

 

lol, its probably a 2.8

 

ur really not gonna feel much boost untill u chip it cause our turbos are very small and their barely boosting ne thing stock... CHip it and trust me u will feel the turbo

 

or just get a larger one

 

I disagree. Most of the horsepower in the powerband throught the RPM range is from the turbo. If you read
about peoples whos turbos that are shot, they say the car is in "limp mode" (hardly moves). Ya, its a low pressure turbo,
but it does do somthing.

 

The K03 isn't easy to hear with my ears. Also if you're not chipped you're not going to feel much pull. Get chipped ASAP.

my turbo, a ko3, is very easy to hear. ya i hear her spool right after 3k around 3.1k. i guess i can say i hear it easily because my radio doesnt work and all i hear is the turbo on top of the annoying *** squeeking wheel of mine

 

It's a low pressure turbo, meant to kick in at low rpm and gradually taper off at high rpm. Giving you a boost in the most useful rpm range (2000-4500 rpm).

If you can't feel the turbo kicking in, it means it's well designed.
