Default Are these 19x9.5 wheels bad for my car?

So I have an 03 Audi A4 (1.8T) and just bought 19x9.5 wheels that rub on the hub arm
but not by much.

1) Do you think this is dangerous to drive without spacers? It rubs lightly.
2) The tires are 255/35/19 which are VERY wide! If i just change the tires to 245/35/19
will it resolve the rubbing issu?
3) Lastly, in general, is it bad for my ALL WHEEL DRIVE audi or for my shocks or axels
to be driving on wheels this wide? Some say yes and some say no. I know i get more traction.
Thats a given. But is it hurting my car?

Any helpful hints or answers would be GREATLY appreciated. I may just sell the rims. Want them?

as long as both front and back are the same size you will be cool... if not you will **** your AWD system... a little rubbage isnt bad but narrower tires would fix it probably and dont do spacers they are gay

I agree, the front wheels have to turn andthey will rub when you hit bumps in a turn. You can get around it though with a wide body kit/fenders, and some other mods.I have the samemodel yearwith 18X8's and a drop. I had todo so slightmods, but theyare right at the limit of how wide you can go if you drop it. Why get wheels so wide for an AWD car anyway?

Thanks everyone for your help so far. I already have these wheels before I posted.
I know these are so wide and I have AWD but i got a super good deal I could not refuse.

Hey John D, you the same year, an 03 A4 and your 18x8s just barely clear? I was going to
sell these and buy some 18x8.5s actually. SHOULD I NOT?

The 19x9.5s I have touch in the front by like4 finger nails or so and when i put a thin spacer it seems
to clear it which would mean i could use even a 18x8.5, dont you think?

The other problem is the tires! They are 255/35/19. Maybe if i can buy new tires that are 245/35/19
they would then clear???

I just can't imagine you would have to modify your A4 for some small 18x8 wheels. Unless you just
wanted to drop the car for looks. What size tires do you have on there?

BY THE WAY, they rub in the back too but less in the back and in the back
they rub slightly on the plastic wrapped around the shock or suspention whatever that is,
so i think it rubs against that that plastic its no big deal.

According to a site which is the most informative site on wheels and tires i have ever come across,
even if you have wheels that fit, if the diameter of the overall wheel is larger or smaller than the original
stock wheels, your spedometer is effected as well, along with your mileage beleive it or not.

Here's the site. ITS WORTH YOUR TIME!
http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html There's a JAVA calculator there that will do the calculations for you! Just input your tire info, etc.According to it, my car with these wheels are 2.77% different in size next to the originalswhich means when my spedo reads 70mph, im really going 71.94mph.

Current wheel/tyre
New wheel/tyre

145 155 165 175 185 190 195 205 215 225 230 235 245 255 265 275 285 295 305 315 325 335 395 / 25 30 35 40 45 50 55 60 65 70 75 80 82 85 100 R 12 13 14 15 15.5 16 16.5 17 18 19 19.5 20 21 22 23 24
145 155 165 175 185 190 195 205 215 225 235 245 255 265 275 285 295 305 315 325 335 395 / 25 30 35 40 45 50 55 60 65 70 75 80 82 85 100 R 12 13 14 15 16 16.5 17 18 19 19.5 20 21 22 23 24

Current RR:mm
New RR:mm

Current circumference:mm
New circumference:mm

Difference in circumference:mm or %

So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at mph

-I would go with 18x8, they are plenty wide and have a good looks/performance ratio ( my GSD3 tires are 235/40 ZR18).If you get your rims/tires from a place like tire rack, they will guarantee fit.

-Mod with a bit of hot glue for the carpet liningand pushing certain areas in a tiny bit, nothing major.

-It is not dropped for looks, (I replaced the entiresuspension)they are coilovers witha ridiculous 36 levels of dampening adjustment, with no loss in travel when dropped. I can fine tune the drop level too (the front is 1/2 inch lower). Its like a stock ride on its softest setting (only less roll), or like a super car on its hardest (on the track).

They are ASA brand AR2 18x8 wheels (two tone grey/machine with clear coat finish, race mesh style with lip). The lip has a machine finish (like brushed aluminum)with a clear coat, so they are more raceand less bling bling. They look like a two piece wheel, but are affordable. You can clear big break kits on this wheel.

I paid a really low price new from tire rack because my friend owns a shop :-) The price depends on the quality of tire you put on too. Toyo proxy 4's or similar tiresare good for the money if you cant budget for the GSD3's. Buy fromtire rack, they have the best deal.

what is a 2 piece wheel? a wheel with a lip?

so you have the ASA AR2? I was checking them on TireRack but i thought
the finish looked cheap, well the whole rim really. But looks good on your car.
So confused. lol.
