They are manufactured by DEPO, and DOT approved. H7 bulbs with molded ballast mounting plates. They're very nice....

I dont have to have the best ones, I'm assuming ecodes but I dont want p.o.s. headlights either. so now what can I get for 400 there has to be some decent headlights outthere on the net that will look good with my black a4

Not to mention, those arent DOT certified and if the guy in your inpection station is paying attention, you won't pass. No one seems to remember that you are required to have reflectors

I have these as well:

I like them fine, but I didn't seal one well enough and it fogged up immediately. I see that you need one piece headlights so I mentioned that only to make a point: add that sealant to any set you buy on eBay.
It may take longer, but if I were you, I would hold out until an OEM set pops up either in the classifieds or in a local junkyard. One set sold on eBay for less than I paid for my Depos not too long ago. You're right, the vvme.com kits are around $55, but shipping is almost as much as that, so whether you buy from their website or from their eBay account, you'll pay around $100.

So, let me rephrase...Pardon me, could you please clarify what you mean by that?
My car came with projector headlights that have reflectors in them (the orange corners.) Those cheapass ebay ones have no reflectors, so, they are not legal in any state (or Canada for that matter)
