I finally got around to changing the brakes, not sure what brand the pads are but they seemed to out last the rotors which in my experiences never happens. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...a/P4170383.jpg

Here's a question though: I have a nail dead center of the of 1 of the tread blocks. Do I have them replace it or fix it?

Are those the old pads in the pic? If so they look fine. You should get 2-3 pads per one set of rotors, unless you have really aggressive pads.

I'm pretty sure the nail can be fixed, it might not even be all the way through the tread.

Yea those are the old ones I just put the new ones on. I got a kit from ecs that came with pads, rotors, fluid & lines.

The tire is not leaking so thats a good thing. I know the tire can be fixed because its dead center of the tire/tread block. I am just wondering if its worth it to have it replaced over repaired. I have a warenty on the tires that covers this stuff so I would just pay a % of the cost to replace.

Never mind the more I read what im saying it makes no sense to pay for what can be fixed for free.

Hmm, your rotors and your old pads dont look all that worn, a little dirty maybe, but brake cleaner can fix that. Was there a problem with them that led you to replace, or just upgrading?

Any picks of the new setup?

Well if you look at the rotor the slots are no longer slots and there was a chip onof the very edge of one. (not seen in pics) I'll get some pics of the new ones on after lunch!

Those pads are brand new you have about a 1\2 inch plus on those pads, the Rotors look like they have a lip on them, they need to go if that is so. But ya man they are dirty it happens, but they look perfect, If you got a bigger brake kit its a mute point but you can clean them up and keep them as backups, or sell them as used get some $$ back.
Question can you Cut slotted rotors the same as non??

If anyone really wants the pads before they go to the garbage pm/email me and you can have them for what the shipping is. The rotors are no good so they are going tonight.

Not sure i guess you could but they would be purdy thin. Figure the slots are cut about a 1/4" into the rotor so after you wear that down and try to cut some more its going to be very thin.
