Default think its time for a chip.......

well my friends truck was in for repair, wheel bearing... and he got a rental

2005 toyota corolla with 1400miles on it... has the 170hp 1.8 vvt-i and 4spd auto

well he goes to me... wanna race.. so i said sure

went from like a 15mph role, he toasted me through 2nd, but once i hit 3rd i pulled hard and passed him back with ease. did this twice and same thign both times. and once i hit 4th, i absolutely left him behind.

but anyways he still toasted me off the line with ease, by like an easy car length before i started to come back.

so i looked it up and he has 20 more hp.. but less torque.. like 127 i think... and the car only weighs 2550... tin can...

so i'm thinking its time for a chip.. getting beat by a corolla. my cars a 97 1.8tqm with 195,000 miles on it, all highway, doesnt burn a drop of oil, runs as smooth as anything, timing belt doen in the lask 3,000. anyone advice against chipping it? any ideas... and any insight on the old corolla incident.

Do it. No problems with doing it now or at any time. Just do it.

DV(diverter valve) or AKA BPV(by pass valve)

its like a blow off valve but instead of shotting excess boost in to nowhere it BY PASS the air in to the intake

the 710n is a very affordable and capable DV/BPV off the TT but i would say get a forged one like
the FORGE 007 or a bailey DV

and try to resist the evil and say no to BOV(blow off valves)
