If you are unhappy with the S4 because of how much it costs to run and mod, the an rx8 is barely a step up. I wanted to buy one for a while so i seriously looked into them. They are really bad with gas, mods are expensive with little power increase, it uses at least a quart of oil each month, and once you have put a fair amount money into your car (like $6k) you will run in the high 14's (search streetfire for videos). As for 4 doors, id say evo over sti only because my friend just bought an 07 sti and he said it was the biggest dissapointment of a car to drive. anyways, good luck

 

No offense... But, you should be shot in the knee cap. Just my oppinon. jk. But seriously... Rx8 trannys are poop and they arent as fun to drive as they look. Youll hate winters and I hope you dont pick up more than a couple gallons of milk when you go to the grocery.

 

only thing i like on the rx8 is how it shifts, feels really nice im not sure why. barely a 4 dr though....

 

rx8 is a pretty sexy looking car but it's no Audi AWD.... how do you like to drive???

 

actually american v8's get better gas mileage than his s4 or even my a4 come to think of it. a 2006 400 hp 6.0l get 28 mpg highway, hell even the 7.0l500hp zo6 gets 26 highway. people think just cause they are large engines they get bad gasmilage, FALSE.

as far as mpg vs hp, no one can touch the gen III & IV small block V8. but i do agree, rotary engines rock!

 

I am a used car dealer in NC and have heard nothing but horror stories involving the RX8s. just like the rx7s, the motors are only holding up for 80k miles before you are having to drop a new on in. rotaries are a cool idea but never really perfected in my opinion.

 

+1. they were made by a single person, and purchased by mazda as a rotary experiment. i personally wouldnt want to own a car that had the name experiment in it, doesnt seem too accredited. if you do get one, get every possible extended warrenty, its worth it.

 

my ex lad had an rx-8 and the suspension was nice... you could take turns however fast you want too

 

Tell that to my v8 Cobra, v8 LS1 T/A, V8 Explorer...

You take one engine (a DOD nonethless) and say american V8's get better mileage than your audi, then something is wrong with your audi. I get 37mpg highway in my 2.8q tip
