Let me ask you then when was the evo first introduced?

For your information the WRX was first introduced in 1992 in Japan.

That can be your little secret.
im guessing you dont live in the US?? cuz they were definately introduced into the US during the year 2002.. if you dont live in the US than all of this is starting to make a little more sense... and your saying you can stay even with those cars for the first 250ft, anything with awd can stay with anything for 250ft, thats why a quarter mile is 1300+ ft... cuz 250ft is whoever launches better, thats like... a 3-4 second race.

oh ya, and 1.8's definately run a 16.5 stock, avant or no avant.... 16.5 is where a stock 1.8 sits

I live in Iowa, he used to live in Japan and brought the car back when his family moved back (military family). Stoplight to stoplight is not anywhere close to a quater at least around here, and as I said an STI walked on me, so the anything can keep up with anything for 250ft is wrong. Why can a civic get 600hp and 150ftlb of torque, the gearing. I was behind about 5ftstarting against the g35 and caught back up. torque is hp over time, yes you can make 300hp, how many time can you do it in a minute? Audis create great low end torque, torque moves loads, hp gets top speeds. from a stand still you can keep up because of the torque. G35's are over rated and neither one of those 2 guys could drive, but manual 1.8t's go through first and second gear quickly and get stomped halfway through third.

100 more horspower, 500 less pounds.. Id figure the wrx would win.. I mean.. A stock 1.8t is so weak and sluggish no matter how good of a shifter you are in stock form.

250ft, like I said stoplight to stoplight, anything longer and I would have lost. I agree.
