I was wondering if your boost levels change depending on what gear you are in.

Ex: 1st 10psi
2nd 15psi
3rd 20psi
4th 20psi
5th 20psi

 

I normally boost 18+ in all gears. Sometimes i see a drop off to 15psi, but thats usually in 3rd gear + close to redline.

 

i use to get less boost in first gear at wot like 15, but held 18 as well

 

I dont have a boost guage but I can tell you there is much more boost from second on just from the pull and the sound of the turbo. Damn turbo lag!!!!

 

i couldnt even tell you. my boost guage reads 0 at all times now since the line is pinched. still havent fixed it.

 

I have a 981.8tqm
1st gear- 10 or so
2nd- up to 15 or so
3rd- 18 or so....then drops to 8 psi by redline and so on with the gears....

From what info im seeing here is that its ok that the peak psi is different in different gears. The reason i am asking here is to compare MTM to GIAC since i cant get a hold of the only MTM dealer in the USA. I guess this could also be a good trouble shooting guide for future problems.

 

As far as I know, MTM is best for use with the S4. I dont think they have as great claims or peak #'s as GIAC or APR for the A4.
