You guys are very good about keeping things real. Jets pointed out that the A4 is a) not a sports car it is a compact luxury sport sedan. B) weighs several hundred pounds more than Hondas. C) The Integra GSR is as near to a stock purpose built NA race car as is made short of the super cars.
Why would you race a GSR with a 2.8? I mean why not something in your class. If you were to go to a track you would be in a different bracket. With a weight of 2609 lbs and 170 HP the ratio for a GSR is .065 where as the bulky fourdoor all wheel drive 2.8 at roughly 3300 lbs and 192 hp has a ratio of .05818.

The AWD Audi is by far a better all around car. It is not however a race car.

If you want a light weight car that is bad as hell get a Lotus Elise 135. Hell, why not get a MR2 and add the Celica GTS tranny and head and you have a lotus...kind of.

I always say, "If you want a vette by a vette. Don't by a Chevette and try to make it a Corvette"!

*scratching head* .... I don't understand people. Question: Why, if speed was your concern, would you look to audi? Obviously cost was a factor, if you were looking at 96 97 A4's... and yet, you buy an aging premium brand luxury/sport sedan? Seems to me, that there are dozens of better choices, for the crafty consumer like yourself. My camaro for example! hahaha, seriously though, if you want a fast car, you should be looking at talon turbo's, celica turbo's, 87 - 92 supra turbo's (who cares about the headgasket thing)... these are all fast cars, with gobs of potential, and cheaper than the audi in most cases... leaving you money to mod it.
And as the guy before me pointed out... did you think your 2 horsepower advantage was going to make up for an 700 lb handicap? Let me just get my calculator to check... umm, that definately doesnt compute.
So, I'd also suggest selling your car... and as clconversion pointed out, do some research next time. I think it's clear audi's arent your thing. (and yeah, S4's are sweet, but clearly out of your price range -- apples and oranges one might say). My honest sugestion for a good fast car, is either a V8 Fbody, or 5.0L mustang *i hate them though*, or on the import side, i'd do a nissan 240sx, and drop in an SR20DET. Then you can walk an audi, and a GSR... The point is, with your budget in mind, you cant have a posh interior, and amazing german handling (cant beat the wheel feedback in these cars), AND have a fast car. So choose: fast but cheap, or slower but posh.
Anyways, your whining to the wrong crowd, big time. Buy my camaro, it'll fix your need for speed, and help me pay for school. :P
