Default Throttle body alignment

So i bought a boost guage and im going to place it on the steering columb. To power it im gonna hook it straight up to the light switch for the headlights. So, i belive i need to disconect the battery before i remove the columb cover. So i have heard that when ever the battery is disconected that you have to do a throttle body alignment. So my question is how do i do a throttle body alignment. I have vag-com(the shareware version) but i dont know what to do. Thanks for the help.

Nah you won't lose your throttle body adaption setting if you dis-connect the battery, i thought that was the case a while ago but i asked our TFM director (aka smart audi guy) and he said you won't lose the setting. Although its good to know so i would find out how to do it anyway.
