Default Timing belt

Ok So my car is going in to the audi dealership on tuesday, I Have a A4 1.8TQ 1999.5 btw....anyways I need my timing belt done as well as a new CV. The dealership is$95/Hr (Canadian) and he says it will be all day? How long should this take? I am thinking like 2-3hrs if that. Also what would the price of a timing belt and CV be?

Thanks

You'll get hit for 5 hours labor. They double charge for the water pump.

Take it to an independent mechanic... a timing belt and CV isn't that hard...

they are going to charge you for some serious hours. Its an involved job. Typical dealership prices could run you $1k to $1.5k. An independant shop will be cheaper $700 to $900 maybe. There is a shop near me that does it for $650.

what are other 100k+ milage things that should be fixed/replaced while this is all disassembled?

My S belt tensioner just went bad at 106k, destroying the belt and leaving me stranded on the freeway, and forcing a replacement. Not too hard even with the radiator in there.

I've heard snub mount but I don't know what that is, something about mounting the engine, but where? Any pictures?

There's gotta be things to look for at this age that will save some time to address early?

You should be happy your valves aren't bent.
