Default timing belt or chip?

i am a noob. Just purchased a 2001 a4 1.8t with 77k on it. This car is in great condition and was serviced at audi at 50k. I really want to chip it but i am worried about stuff breaking. Can i install the chip now or do i HAVE to change the timing belt first?

If your timing belt just got done at 50k then dont worry about it and just mod your car up, but if you need the service certainly put all your cash in making sure your car runs smooth.

Damn audi, they just couldn't leave enough space from the pistons to valves. Sorry man, you gotta do the timing belt. Replacing your whole motor will suck...big time.

Yes, definitely get your car running smoothly before anything else. I just got mine back to a beautiful pur and now it's mod time. It's much easier to buy things for your car when you know it's mechanically sound.
