timing Belt DIY
...Im about to do just that on my 99 A4 2.8. Im kind of nervous, Im no stranger to mechanics are german cars at that, but its a serious repair. Iv heard many success stories on here of people replacing the timing belt themselves and had no issues, however, also I have heard of people that snapped the belt and effd up some valves. I plan to order the parts/rental tool kit from blauparts.com this week. Also, I got the bently manual for torque specs and such. Any other tips/advice? success stories? Im just looking to build some confidence before I tear my car apart!
If you have mechanical experience then it shouldn't be too difficult. With the right tools anything is possible.
