www.ecstuning.com's belt is a Dayco, which is caried by our local Schucks Auto Supply. Im not aware of the quality of Dayco or Febi-Bilstein. So either Dayco or Febi-Bilstein, any opinions on which is the better choice? Is Febi-Bilstein a major manufacturer for Audi/Volk? Who makes the stock belts?
Hi all, ive decided to do my timing belt. I've got quite a few tools and have done lots of car work before, however i dont have any Audi-specific tools. There was a site that sold a kit and included the ability to rent specialized tools for the job (at least the picture shows what looks like specialized tools).
1. What is that site, anyone have a link?
2. Do i even need those tools assuming i have many generic automotive tools?
Thanks guys,

If you have a 1.8t you need no audi specific tools. For the 2.8 you should really have the cam locking tool.
Basic wrenches, sockets (there is one large one you will need for the crank), torx wrenches, hex wrenches, etc... Make sure you have some metric stuff on hand too.
btw - Febi-Bilstein is a respected OEM replacement.
