Default Timing Belt Question

I have heard from different sources that the timing belts on the 2002 Audi A4 1.8T's have been known to break early. I have a Quattro with 67,000 miles on it. At what mileage should I be changing mine? I have heard anywhere from 60,000 to 95,000 miles.

Default RE: Timing Belt Question

It was the tensioner, not the belt that fails early.

And I think by 2002 they had a redesigned one in there.

You should be OK to change it around 90k. Audi says 105k, Id do it between 80-90 just to be on the safe side.
