hi all,

had my battery replaced over the weekend in my 99 A4 1.8tAvant. Then noticed on the dash that all my gears on the dash were lit up. Thought, gee thats strange, so I check the fuses and found none blown. Took it for a drive as I thought that if I egage the tip it would clear it up and the car drove normally as it was in 'drive'. I thought if I reset the ECU that should correect it....any ideas ?

Find somebody with a VAG-COM, you can use the links page in the A4 section to find the VAG locater, and find somebody near you to tell you what codes might have been set off

 

good tip, but based in Sydney.

 

The vagcom locator has international people. Your tranny is in LIMP mode and the TCU needs to be reset and have the codes pulled.
