Well said. My point exactly.

first of all ... this is an equal oppty forum for nitwits and professionals alike. no question is a stupid question unless it's already been answered 16x and you just refuse to read what everyone keeps telling you. auditech ... seems like you have alot to offer. just keep in mind we all can't be like TomRitt (haha).

that said ... i like the handling of my car better with the tire pressure cranked up to maximum. that is, the setting inside the door (or wherever) that corresponds to maximum load setting. if i remember correctly it's ~40+psi or so. even at the higher pressure i haven't had a problem with uneven tire wear. hopefully that was the type of input you were asking for.

I run 32 PSI in the fronts, 34-35 in the rears, because of the damned stereo stuff. I am terrified of uneven tire wear, so I check it often!

Asking about tire pressure is definitely not a stupid question - alot of people (myself included) do not run with the "recommended" pressure. Be aware that the manufacturer considers many tradeoffs, including comfort, EPA mileage, and safety/legal exposure when recommending a particular pressure (the first two being the most dominant). These tradeoffs may not be the same ones that are most important to you - remember that they think we north americans are lazy and stupid drivers, and want to ride on a soft sofa with our brains turned off...

When I was running the stock 17's I had them at 40 PSI. With the 19's I run 50 PSI. Handling is my primary consideration.

i have the same tire size and run 35 front and 38 rear...stereo stuff does add lots of weight to the back.

Your motor weighs more though, so your front tires should always be a bit more then your rear. I set mine at 35 in front and 33 rear

Remember: The higher you run your pressure, the better mileage you get. Also, from what I know (correct me if I'm wrong!), you are more likely to damage your tires underinflated than overinflated!
