I have a new A4 2.0 with the premium package. Although I love the car so far, I am really dissappointed with the tires that came on it.

They are Goodyear Eagle LS-2. Soft, noisy and already I think out of balance after 2200 miles...... I have an appoimtment Tuesday at the dealer to discuss them.


Questions for those of you in the "know":

1. What came on your cars? B7's would be the best comparison but I am curious what Audi has used in the past as well.
2. What tires do you recomend? I like a sporty ride but not teeth jarring. I do a ton of HWY driving at higher speeds here in the midwest so higher speed ability and heat build up resistence are important to me. Also, as you can imagine I need a 400 rating for wear too.
3. What are my chances of getting the dealer to trade out my tires? I intend to make them very aware of my displeasure. I have had the car two weeks or so.

My B7 came with Continental ContiProContacts. No complaints thus far except that i've had to plug two of them already after leaks.

That was what came with my B7, sport package and AS tires. I like them a lot so far... but I hear the sidewalls are weak

 

Maybe I should also ask whether you have the Sport package or not.

 

Mine came with Connies as well. They're great, although I can't tell what their adhesion limit is on dry roads because they don't make any noise before the ESP kicks in. Real smooth, though. Quiet, firm... Great tires. Might upgrade 'em after the winter, cuz I've always loved Continentals.

 

my 2002 came with dunlop SP9090s

 

I have teh Fuzion ZRis on my car and they are great and i get free repair and replacment of them if needed.

 

Yeah, my dads 02 has the 9090's... my a4 came with dunlop sp 8000's...
Continentals are usually sweet tires, but have the lifespan of a housefly. Enjoy them while they last.

 

i was equiped with bridgestone hp50's. they are pretty damn sticky if u ask me. not as good as potenzas but the next best thing.
