Default Too many miles?

Hey, i am new to the audi world, I have always loved the euro style just never got into audis mostly VWs. But lately i have been checking out some audis and i found an 1996 A4 2.8 with 200k miles. The seller is asking $3500 but i may be able to talk him down. I am yet to see it in person but from the description its runs awesome and is driven it daily. It also looks pretty mint in the pictures.

So, is 200k miles just too much? If not is there anything to look for problem wise? Thanks in advance.

depends really, the v6's are very reliable and if its highway miles thats even better. i think 200k is a bit too much tho especially for 3500. i wouldn't pay more than like 500 for that. i say keep looking and try to find a lower mile one. 100k is a good place to buy at if your budget isn't very big, just make sure when you get it the timing belt, water pump, and fuel filter have all been replaced. the fuel filter isn't so much of a big deal but the other two are.

Yeah, my price range is pretty low. I was gonna see if he would take $2500. Still too much?

a good service history is a must and if he has one the car will bring that price that mileage is nothing to that engine

i don't think its a good decision man. a car with that many miles is bound to have some things wrong on it or some things go soon.IF it was perfectly maintained you probly wont have too many problems but if not then look out. And service on audi's dont come cheap. you said you were on a low budget so if anything breaks ur pretty much f*cked. I'd sat get an integra or some other honda/acura or something. Guarantee you wont have to put a dime into one of those and if anything goes wrong its cheap as hell to fix. drive the car for a while get a job and save up some money until you can really afford a nice audi. but thats just my opinion, u can do wut u like. But i used to be a lot like you and wanted a really nice car out of my price range(like i almost spent 14,000 on an s4 instead of my a4 when i only had bout 9,000 to spend) but trust me it will hurt you in the long run if you do. have patience
