Default Took My Turbo Off.... Question

First,

Let me say what a pain in the *** to get it out!!! second, I found the leaver the wastegate hooks up to off the leaver all together and stuck open. My question is how do I know how far the nuts on the wastegate shaft are suppose to be?

I figured that it needs to be adjusted so the wastegate is closed shut.

I am so happy that all my problem was , was the stupid nut falling off the back of the wastegate opener dohicky.

Much better than a new turbo or 1,800 dollars that the stealership quoted me. Great part is while its off I'm going to change the valve cover gasket because it is leaking just a bit.

Anything else turbo related I should change out for good cause besides the gaskets?

The wastegate should be shut sooo yes you are right. As for other parts I would do the gaskets and a test pipe while you are in there.

Removes the restricting cats, and replaces it with a straight pipe, opening up a bit of power. Search for the rest.

What year is your car? Couple things.

Don't buy parts at the dealer. Ever.

For $1800, you can get a brand new K04 turbo, chip, and diverter valve. You just need to look in the right places. If you get some good deals, you will have enough left over for an exhaust.

A dealer on VW Vortex sells K04-15's (which is what you need) for $745 shipped. A chip from AWE or any another GIAC vendor goes for $500. A top shelf diverter valve (which you will need for the extra boost) sells in the neihborhood of $150. That's only $1,395 for brand new parts and a nice bump in the power department.

My turbo is in perfect working order. It just lost a bolt that hooked the control arm on the wastegate to the open/close thingy ( lol )
